The unbeatable leader of the list is of course the legendary bowler Lasith Malinga. Lasith is a professional player from Sri Lanka, who has taken the biggest number of wickets in the history of IPL. He has been loyal to Mumbai Indians from 2010 till today. As a result of 122 matches, the number of wickets taken by Malinga is 170 with not the best strike rate. However, it’s not the strike rates we discuss here.

The next in the list are Amit Mishra with 157 wickets and 147 matches, Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla who split the position, both having 150 wickets, and Dwayne Bravo with 147 wickets in 134 matches.

The career path of Amit Mishra in IPL has been tied with Delhi Capitals. At least it was up till 2020. Various media sources claim that his allegiance might change this year in favor of the Delhi Capitals. He is the wicket-taking legend among sinners as his score is the highest among all.

The 37 years old batsman and bowler of Chennai Super Kings places the fourth position on our list as the highest wicket-taker in IPL. Previously a member of the Mumbai Indians franchise, Bravo made a great captain’s career with West Indies and is pretty much a living legend due to his versatility on the field.

Another rising star of Indian cricket, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, is the player who is involved in all formats of the game. Since 2014 Kumar has been a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad and felt himself pretty much in his element on the field. The young Indian bowler now sits in fifth place here with 133 wickets.

The next 14th IPL season is just round the corner so the confrontation of the IPL most wickets shall continue. The leaders of the chart will do their best to preserve the leading positions, while the players who are still on their way to the top will be gaining as many wins as possible. The fighting will be fierce.

No doubt that the IPL 2021 highest wicket-taker is the one and only – Malinga Lasith. Looking at his play inspires courage and pride for the whole country, as India did produce the finest cricketers in the world.
